Abstract

The author reviews some of the documents international organizations have produced these last few years. He is sceptic about the attention paid to `light vehicles' and to `high tech' solutions for car traffic. He would like to see programs like Prometheus switched to the development of a more competitive public transport. Most initiatives have been taken by cities - now is, according to the author, the time for regional, national and international authorities to act. (A)
