Abstract

A comprehensive questionnaire dealing with all aspects of urban traffic guidance that was distributed nationwide is described. Analysis of the returned questionnaires was made in terms of "stranger" and "local stranger" trips. Almost half of all respondents reported feeling lost at some stage of their most recent trip. Analysis showed that those problems ranking highest dealt with difficulties in arterial navigation.
