Abstract

Journey to work data are especially applicable to the analysis and improvement of urban transit services. Data from the 1970 population census can identify areas were transit service is needed to serve the young, the old, and others who have no alternative means of transportation. It would be wasted opportunity if planners in every urban area did not seize this rich data source.
