Abstract

Ensuring a certain strength, fatigue life and reliability of load bearing bus frames represents an important task in the development process. For the different materials and joints of the structural elements, it is useful to know their behaviour during fatigue loading. Based on crack initiation, crack propagation and final fracture, material and structural parameters can be defined, which can characterize these materials and structural elements in respect to fatigue sensitivity.
