Abstract

Information of the use of safety helmet and goggles by motor cycle and moped riders was collected by Highway Police in connection with its patrol trips during July 15, 1973- August 15, 1973. Information was collected separately towns and rural areas. As a conclusion it may be said that motor cycle drivers are using a safety helmet relatively often (77%) while passengers use it clearly less commonly (55%). The use of safety helmet and goggles by moped riders is very uncommon. Only about 2-3% of moped riders wore a safety helmet or goggles.
