Abstract

The underlying document deals with different methodological approaches ofuser acceptance measuring the field of telematics applications. Only if the broad public accepts such systems, market penetration will be high and thus safety and efficiency impacts of telematic system optimized. It focuses especially on the assessment of user acceptance on co-operative systems, which represent the key element of an EU-funded project named COOPERS (Co-operative systems for intelligent Road Safety). Within this project a simulator test of I2V communication systems has been performed with 51 participants to evaluate user acceptance. In the next months user acceptance measuring will be performed on several test sites across the European Union. How the methodology has been set up in this and other research projects and the relevance of technology acceptance as a key factor of system usage will be discussed in the following sections.
