Abstract

This report will be of interest to highway administrators, maintenance personnel, system planners and safety specialists concerned with evaluating and alleviating the highway hazards caused by fog. It consists of a set of guidelines which enable the user to determine the need for a reduced visibility system, compare the needs of different locations on a quantitative basis, configure candidate systems tailored to meet the requirements of the problem, and compare the untility and cost of the candidates.
