Abstract

The paper reports on the methodology developed by the road traffic authority, Victoria for public consultation in one transport planning study- North Fitzroy. Throughout the study significant emphasis was placed on public involvement, which took various forms; formal committees, surveys (residents, motorists and interest groups) and public displays. This involvement assisted in identifying issues of concern and the types of solution most acceptable to the community.
