Abstract

The concepts and first results of the project GOTIC (GOthenburg Traffic Information Centre) are presented. The goal is the development of a public transport passenger information system based on telematics. A user-oriented system approach has been applied in the design and implementation. The needs of passengers provide the requirements on the public transport organisation in terms of product, service and information content. Several techniques have been applied, and experiences from observations by video recordings, verbal protocols, post-hoc verbal protocols and focus interviews are presented and discussed. (A)
