Abstract

Most hauliers are small and medium enterprises with insufficient know-how on the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology). Because of environmental concerns, public policy has focused on hauliers and launched many projects including ITS. Real time information and communication systems are not always needed by hauliers as digital tachographs provide an effective fleet management system after the vehicles come back to the office. The ITS requirements of hauliers are discussed. For the covering abstract see ITRD E114174.
