Abstract

An investigation has been made to obtain a roughness diagram (a picture of the variations in the pavement profile, caused by roughness) by means of a U.S. Bureau of public Road rough meter. Several adaptations to this instruments are described, its method of use is given. These include the spring mass system of the wheel of the towed vehicle to give a flexible adjustment of the damping coefficient: adaptation to shorter wave lengths in the pavement: a stabilized operational amplifies in the integrating electric circuit. Further medications are being examined
