Abstract

This paper describes the application of ARRB's Netrisk road safety assessment tool across the Mornington Peninsula Shire in Victoria. The use of Netrisk was the result of an investigation into the best available methods for assessing the condition of the road network. Before Netrisk was adopted, other approaches to a network-wide safety assessment had been developed and tested by the Shire staff. The result of the Netrisk trial has been a useful assessment of the safety implications of various engineering characteristics across the Shires road network. Further work with the tool is planned.
