Abstract

General evolution of urban rapid transit is leading to a reduced heading between trains in order to increase the transport capacity during peak hours. Any traffic disturbance becomes rapidly more and more important and it is difficult to maintain the theoretical maximum capacity. A conversational made system, consisting of a 4 colour graphic display connected with a computer enables consultant engineers to simulate traffic. The displays and the system are described.
