UTMS21 for safety.

Abstract

This paper explains four subsystems of UTMS21 (Next Generation Universal Traffic Management Systems) regarding to safety. National Police Agency of Japan is thinking much of ITS for safety. Driving Safety Support Systems (DSSS) support safety of vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians nearby intersections. Help System for Emergency Life Saving and Public Safety (HELP) supports quick confirming the point of a traffic accident or a scene of emergency and reduce the response time. Fast Emergency Vehicle Pre-emption Systems (FAST) support the operation of emergency vehicles in a safe and effective manner reduce the response time. Pedestrian Information and Communication Systems (PICS) supply information for pedestrians and support of safety, relieved and comfortable movement of pedestrians.
