A mathematical model of a passenger car that is planned to be implemented in a hybrid computer is presented. The model will be used in connection with a driving simulator with a real driver and hence run in the sense that the dynamics of the engine, clutch and transmission is described in some detail. Equations for the steering linkage are given and include the important feedback of the torque from the tyres to the steering wheel. A simple curve-fitting formula for the aligning torque is also introduced.
