Abstract

Validation plays an integral part throughout the production of a digital map database. A variety of quality assurance procedures are used throughout the production process to ensure that the product meets the pre-defined standard. This paper describes the methods and testing procedures used to validate a digital map database. The validation procedures discussed include pre-production field work, real-time edits, batch validation, peer review and field testing of the database. (A)
