Abstract

This paper describes mathematical models of the human and baboon head- spine structures. These model consist of full three- dimensional assemblages of rigid bodies and deformable elements, for which the equations of motion are solved using a large displacement, small deformation dynamic matrix structural analysis program. A validation program for these models is outlined with particular emphasis on the refinement and validation of the baboon head- spine model.
