Abstract

The purpose of the research reported here was to establish and validate relationships between traffic conflicts and accidents. The data upon which the conclusions and rec- ommendations are based were collected during the summer of 1982 at 46 signalized and unsignalized intersections in Kansas. It is concluded that if there are insufficient accident data to produce an estimate, a conflicts study can be very helpful.
