Abstract

The interface between the vehicle and the driver is important in the development of ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems). All operational functions which the driver controls were classified in accordance with the operational switch position. A simulator system which measures the driver's glance movement time and switch operation time was developed to consider the proper interface using the combination of voice and switch input. A proper interface of input system for a vehicle is proposed considering the driver's glance movement time and switch operational time for several different ages and different functions. Results for the proposed interface are presented. (A*)
