Abstract

One of the most used techniques for traffic control is the regulation of conflicting directions by traffic lights. Different control strategies can be used. Three strategies are discussed here. First the fixed control, secondly the flexible control and thirdly the control according to the principle of the traffic dependent program selection The three strategies are compared by which the TRANSYT and the FLEXSYT program are used.
