Abstract

The variation in the culpability of drivers of different ages for different types of accidents was examined. The pattern of variation in culpability with age for individual accident types followed either of two distinct U- shaped patterns. In one, the youngest drivers had the highest causation ratios. In the second, the oldest drivers had the highest culpability ratios.
