Abstract

Since 2008, VBB offers a travel information service for disabled and mobility-impaired people within its travel planner VBB-Fahrinfo, which is delivered by HaCon Gmbh, Hanover. It has been developed within the German R&D project BAIM. The service provides detailed information on the accessibility of public transportation facilities, including vehicles, technical facilities, information devices, and special assistive features for peoplewith disabilities. The BAIM information service supports the user in the preparation of a journey when planning a journey via the Internet, on mobile devices or via a special speech-based information service. Real-timeinformation" during a trip about unforeseen obstacles will be one of the next steps.
