This issue of Current Topics includes over 70 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on many of the intelligent transport research projects undertaken as part of the European DRIVE and EUREKA PROMETHEUS programmes. Amongst these included are reports of research on integrated traffic management in urban areas and on arterial corridors; traffic data interchange across Europe; dynamic information systems for public transport operators and their passengers; in-vehicle driver information systems and dynamic route guidance systems. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 1996 and 2000. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
