Abstract
Fire control on the vehicle may still be the most under regulated of all aspects of trucks and bus safety. On-board fire control has not advanced much past the extinguisher stage. However, systems are under development that will detect on-board fires and nip them in their infancy. Planning, training, self-education and- herewith- expert advice and counsel can also do a lot to prevent on-board fires.
