Abstract

Vehicle interaction criteria are derived as a function of flow rate each lane of a two-lane highway. A Statistical analysis is used to determine the time headway breakpoint that defines the onset of vehicle interaction. The basic approach was to study the dependency between successive speeds introduced by the interaction process.
