Abstract

Glare from meeting vehicles is considered as one of the major traffic hazards. A number of proposals are described that may help to reduce the glare. The systems are either only a partial improvement, or they are expensive, or their introduction raises severe problems. One solution is application of overhead lighting. But such a lighting must fulfill certain requirements, to give no more glare than headlamps.
