Abstract

This paper describes a next-generation in-vehicle multimedia platform, which operates highly reliable software and open software concurrently, but independently using DARMA technology. DARMA (Dependable Autonomous hard Real-time MAnagement) allows two operating systems, which are open OS for multimedia and telematics applications and RTOS (Real-time OS) for mission-critical software, to be run on one processor. The software firewall isolates mission-critical software from open application software, and auto-restart is available if one OS crashes. For the covering abstract see ITRD E114174.
