Abstract

This paper studies the vehicle navigation system against snow in winter season. In the residential area (Hokkaido, Northern part of Japan), there is a lot of snowfall and occasionally, some vehicles loose the way by poor visibility and whiteout conditions. In order to construct the strong navigation system against poor visibility, the authors study communication system between vehicle and road using radio frequency identification (RF-ID) systems. This paper made experiments during the winter season and will showprototype vehicle navigation system and its results.
