Vehicle operating costs update (2001-2004).

This issue of Current Topics includes over 65 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the identification, calculation and control of operating costs for cars, lorries, buses and vehicle fleets. The main topics covered include: vehicle design; efficiency of different fuels; taxation policy; pavement maintenance effects, servicing, logistics and modelling of operating costs. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 2001 and 2004. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
