Abstract

Crush measurements from vehicles are routinely used and have been proven effective in determining the impact velocity and vehicle change of speed in automobile accidents. This relationship suggests a need to employ exacting measurement schemes to obtain the best estimates. Crush measurements are used in conjunction with the CRASH III computer program to estimate the pre- impact vehicle speeds.
