Abstract
Every year data are collected by the Netherlands Central Bureau of Statistics on holiday recreation, which every fifth year is extended to all types of recreation. This article is based on the 1970 overall study. The author applied the same model as Gordon and Edwards did in England before. For three types of duration generation factors are calculated for different parts of the Netherlands and attraction factors for the major touristical areas. A comparison is made with the results of the English study.
