Abstract
In recent Dutch national governmental publications like the "Fourth Note on environmental planning" and the "Structure scheme of traffic and transport" public transport has gained in value in comparison to former years. The social task of public transport is generally accepted, especially at times when a lot of private traffic occupies the roads. However, there are dangers in fields like personnel, exploitation, and finances.
