Abstract
The layout of the road network in the Flevoland polder was made with in mind a division of functions between The different categories of roads. Distinguished were primary, secondary, tertiary roads and polder roads. Polder roads are designed for the opening of farm and agricultural land. The width of these roads were 3.50 meter. With the traffic of today some problems have arisen due to the unproper use of these roads. Improvements of the berms along these roads are seen as the best solution on short term.
