Abstract

The development of a systematic approach to traffic education activities in secondary schools is studied. Traffic education on such schools is not mandatory in the Netherlands. Initiatives are taken on an individually basis by parents, project-groups or schools. Traffic education in other countries can not be simple example, due to the many differences in transport mode, education and traffic structure.Guidelines for an introduction of systematic traffic education curricula in secondary schools are proposed.
