Abstract

The role, which risk-tolerance plays in the causing of accident is explained with the help of a try to integrate existing theories of driving behaviour in a combined model. Special emphasis is given to recent developments which demonstrate the fact that the driving behaviour of the individual driver takes places in social interaction with other. This interaction process is characterized by social imitation, personal influence and the drawing up of an example that agrees with the interest of traffic safety.
