This university lecture consists of two parts. Part 1 discusses the design process for the infrastructures of traffic and their technical. town planning and social-economical marginal conditions. Part 2 discusses the principals of designing a traffic and transport plan for new as well as existing residential areas, also in connection with the rural road network. The mutual coherence of various modes of traffic and their relation to environmental planning and the social and social-economic functions of the urban area are emphasized.
