Abstract

Some surveys are described in which the effects have been analysed of traffic measures on the economic position of the retail trade in non-city shopping streets in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. When studying the effects of traffic measures on the functioning of shops, two elements must be part of the fieldwork i.e. an interview of the shopkeepers and counts plus interviews of pedestrians.
