Abstract
This study of literature on traffic education is meant to indicate where the points of contact are to be found in traffic education experiments taking place or having taken place in W. Europe. Traffic safe conduct is a socially directed capability which has to be taught besides the knowledge of facts. Science and Practice should cooperate. This study is meant as a first introduction for teaching experts into traffic safety and traffic education. In part 2 a survey is given of the problem of traffic safety with the aid of statistics.
