This report offers an overview of road hazard in the Dutch province of Zeeland. The report also serves as a background document to the specification of the Regional Organization for Road Safety in Zeeland (ROVZ) long-term plan. A road safety analysis based on road accident victim statistics was used. The aims were to describe and to compare the degree of road hazard in the province of Zeeland with the rest of The Netherlands. The road hazard of four regions in the province of Zeeland was further analysed. The aim was to determine the specific problem areas of certain regions. In the analyses attention is paid both to the scope of the problem and to the development over time. The description ends with conclusions and recommendations incorporating previously performed accident studies in the province of Zeeland. The report concludes with a description of objectives for the ROVZ long-term policy plan, based on the road hazard analyses. The report offers measures which may be implemented in response.
