Abstract

The number of fatal accidents in the Haarlemmermeer was compared with other communities. Abandoned from the relative unsafety the absolute number of accidents (ca 1700 per year) was a reason for taking measures to increase the traffic safety. An inventarisation is made from data on highway situations and from data on accidents on highway sections and junctions outside built up areas. Some conclusions are already given.
