Abstract

This report describes a first- small scale - study into the relations between residents'judgements of traffic safety in their own streets and the actual traffic behaviour of traffic participants in these streets. The original idea that the judgement of residents on the traffic safety in their street is so robust that - given a reasonable matching of streets on a number of environmental characteristics- it can be found back in the behaviour of traffic participants in these streets has proven to be wrong.
