Abstract
A summary review of the development at traffic and traffic policy in the Federal Republic of Germany during the last 30 years is presented. Besides considerations on rail bound transport, aviation and water transport, road traffic questions are mentioned. Traffic in urban and rural area are discussed, as well as the wanted change from private transport to public transport. Safety in traffic and air and sound pollution are taken into account.
