Abstract

Measures to restrain traffic are not alone for subjective or objective safety but also for the improvement of the quality of life in residential areas. A study is made by interviews in 10 different residential areas and shopping centre into the social influence of those traffic restraint measures. A programme is initiated to get a simple measurement technique to identify subjective safety problems and to evaluate reconstruction schemes.
