Abstract
With the aid of the "Umsetzbare Stahlhockstrasse, Schnellbaneisesysteem" (movable steel bridges) developed by Rhein-stahl Union Brückenbau A.G., high sectional steel bridges can be set up quickly. According to this system each stretch is spanned by one bridge section between two supports which means that the bridge elements do not continue into continue into those of the next section. The weight of the section has been so chosen that they can be handled by ordinary mobile cranes. The assembly of the bridges on simple and takes little time.
