Abstract
Investments in infrastructure become more important.Investments in inland waterways have a lower priority. These investments are based on transport forecasts. A significant growth of road transport is forecasted for all countries. The growth rate is over 2% a year for domestic road transport. In international transport the growth is even higher. In The Netherlands investments in road transport still dominate. It is necessary that more attention is paid to investments in rail transport.
