The Transport and Transportation Scheme of the Dutch government indicates several activities which should be the subject of transport regions. In this paper some remarks for discussion are made. For instance: cooperation between transit companies, the size of a transport region, the financing of infrastructure and the organizational context. A proposal is made to focus the subject of transport regions on traffic problems in urban areas and then to choose for the best size. Some problems can already be solved now, without the installation of transport regions.
