Abstract

In the political decisionmaking process towards new rail and road infrastructure the so-called `transport value study' is important with regard to the planning process. One of the main goals of a `transport value study' is the analysis of the utility of an investment with respect to the Dutch Ministry of Transport policy. In this paper the procedure of conducting a `transport value study' is described. An actual example is used: the `Hanzelijn'. This is the railway connection between Lelystad and Zwolle. (A)
