Abstract
Zoetermeer is developing from a village of some 10 000 people to a suburb of about 100 000 inhabitants. There is a separate system of main roads of motor car traffic and a dense network for bicycles + mopeds and pedestrians. Although mainly designed as a suburb Zoetermeer also has its own industrial and office settlements. For home-work trips with their destination within The Hague and district, public transport plays an important role; especially the new Sprinter railway to the centre of The Hague is quite popular and attracts even a lot of ear-owners.
