Abstract

It is argued that transport research should be directed more towards the factors behind transport demand. The location of activities can be seen as the most important of these factors. Reversely it seems that the transportation facilities supplied form one of the location choice factors. The development of dynamic models is recommended to study the interdependence of locational factors and transport demand.
