Abstract
An installation which produced an artificial wind gust of 22 m/s and a width of 32 m has been used to test the side-wind sensitivity of various passenger cars. The cars where driven at a speed of 100 km/h through the gust with a fixed steering wheel in order to eliminate variations due to different drivers' responses. Deviations ranging from 2 to 8 meters were recorded for the 34 cars tested with both minimum and maximum loads.
